Steve H is gonna loathe this

Remember, he is the man whose current tagline is, "-- Islam: the Sole Reason it Takes an Hour to Get on a Plane --"

He may have to revise that to, "the sole reason it takes 3-6 hours to get on a plane, if your flight isn't cancelled".

Or, "Islam, the reason your flight may never land".

Last shot, "Islam, the reason you need to taste your own breast milk (and urine) before boarding a flight".

Anyway, I hoped to go to sleep early tonight, instead I am watching Fox News, and following this "foiled" UK terror threat.

Here's what is known:

- somewhere between 20-50 people were arrested in the UK. All were "very close" to getting on planes with "liquid explosives" (Fox News and Sky News via the TV).

- IN the UK CRAZY restrictions on what you can carry on the plane. No liquids, unless they are for your baby and you are willing to taste them in front of airport security.

- Loads of troubles at airports, cancelled flights, long queues.

- US is also banning carry on luggage, looking for a story to link, this again is from Fox News on the TV. Threat level raised, to Severe for inbound flights from the UK. "High" for domestic flights.

What I am wondering is, if the plot is more widespread...we have some MIA students from Egypt...any connection?

Obviously, I'm not a go-to source for breaking news. But I'm here and I'll update this as long as I stay away for anyone who cares to get my take. So in other words, that's everyone except for liberals, who think the terrorist threat is a Rovian creation. Or those peace-freaks who think the solution to this problem is to bow down to Allah and don burkas.

UPDATE:
Scotland Yard spokesman is speaking, I can hardly understand a word he's saying. But oddly, he is sexy and comforting! Something about "mass murder on an unimaginable scale". From Islam? The religion of peace?!!! Noooooooo.

UPDATE:
No gel based products allowed on flights? Someone call the UK version of the ACLU. This is clearly discrimination against metrosexuals, who need their hair gel, and moisterizers on long flights.

There is no terrorist threat. Michael Moore

I wonder if any of those arrested could be found in these photos?

For their own sake, the Islamic world better hope that this plot isn't successful. Instead of worrying about radicalizing them, they better be more concerned with radicalizing US. One or two more strikes here, and they are out.

When that happens, the public will finally clamor for the end of these politically correct, morally idealistic Wilsonian policies in the Middle East, and demand a total war strategy against the Religion of Peace. A strategy that is less Woodrow Wilson, and more akin to Pol Pot.

I'm talking about WW2-style "saturation bombing cities into dust, then nuking the ashes" total war in the Middle East. We wouldn't make peace until we're like an Old Testament god to them.

Islam needs a reformation, and I'm not sure that democracy in the Middle East alone will bring that about. In order for it to be rebuilt, contemporary Islamic society might have to be destroyed first.

We've been contemplating this subject over at Annika's for the past week.

"Islam needs a reformation, and I'm not sure that democracy in the Middle East alone will bring that about."

Reformation through superior firepower.

They shouldn't let any more of them come over here, either for immigration or even temporary visits. The ones that are here already, that aren't citizens, should be returned from whence they came. I know that will never happen, though, the ACLU would object on the grounds that they are under oppression in their countries-which if that were true might be a real good indication that they are indeed terrorists.

Also, the universities would object and threaten to double their admissions and other fees to make up the loss of revenue.

Oh, and of course the Far Left, commonly referred to these days as "liberals", would object on the grounds that we have to maintain our standards of openness and tolerance for diversity.

This coming Ramadan I think I'm going to hoist my middle five times a day in the direction of Mecca, and maybe once for good measure in the direction of Berkeley.

As it happens, I changed my tagline today.

Personally, I'm partial to "Islam, the reason your flight may never land," as a tagline. It kind of says it all.

I question the timing!! Two days late to help Joe lieberman. That Kos, is there anything he can't do?

Exactly what has to happen before the civilized (non-muslim) world wakes up and realizes World War III has already started? That it will take the same drastic measures to end the crisis in the middle east as were taken to end the second world war?

Think about it...the last war WE unequivocally won was WWII and we finished that one by dropping 2 nukes. Every attempt at war since then has been waged with every effort taken to inflict as little death and destruction as possible. We, as a society, have to come to the realization we are at war every day now. Just because planes aren't being flown into buildings and trains aren't exploding, it doesn't mean muslims somewhere in the world aren't planning terrorist acts!

"Islam: the reason your plane may land -- in a zillion pieces."

Islam does NOT require reform. It is the religion of peace!!! These people wouldn't hurt a fly, even if it was parked on their ass cracks as they put their anuses towards mecca.
