Project Runway
Tonight's challenge was to create a couture gown. In only 2 days.
My favorite part was the workroom sign shown several times stating, "CAUTION: Fleurchamps making in progress". Obviously Jeffrey's illiterate attempt to make fun of the recently departed Angela and her over-loved fleurchons.
Anyway, let's cut to the chase, shall we?
Kayne did not disappoint, he used extra tacky trailerpark and accessorized with gaudy. It was a cheap prom dress, not couture.
Uli's dress looked like a spiced up version of an earlier competition's dress. But it was pretty and not auf'able.
Laura one of my favorites, created a dress that could double as a Shakespearean costume. For a man. She's ultra talented, but not showing any range at all this week, besides her tired Ann Taylor side. Michael Kors commented, with a shorter skirt and a feather duster, it could be a French maid costume. Poor Laura -- she's pregnant, exhausted and all that is showing along with her baby belly.
I sure liked Michael's dress a lot better than the judges did. Especially that luscious color and elegant cut in the skirt. His model got egged in Paris, and back in NYC the judges could tell her swag looked like it had been through the wringer.
Jeffrey's dress, (85% hand sewed, let's all kiss his neck tattoo now, shall we?) was a deconstructed Holly Hobby whore costume. Somehow everyone liked it and he won his second competition in a row.
That said, I'd still like to have his dress, it would make a great cover for a picnic table.
Vincent. Oh Vincent. We love him but not his clothes. And the judges had the same idea. He's history.
Next week it seems Laura has a breakdown (who can blame her, she's surrounded by freaks like Jeffrey and his giraffe neck). And from what was said in the preview, they are designing for two special guests. The Olsen twins? Bleech.
Okay, carry on.

The suspense was killing me and I had, simply had to look away. Lemme know how it all turns out 'cause this is too much for me.

Let me preface this by saying: I hate Jeffrey. He's a rude, mostly-talentless poseur, and I'd like to grab him by the hair and beat his face into something pointy. But I'm a freak for yellow plaid. I loved that dress. I'm so ashamed.

I didn't get home from work until after ten last night, and by the time I turned on the tele, they were already lined up on the runway. I was tempted to wait and watch the show during a re-aire but decided that, since I already watch it a half dozen times a week, already knowing the winners and losers, what the hell...
The first thing I saw on screen was that yellow plaid dress.
And... I loved it.
I hate Jeffrey (or is it Geoffrey?), but I loved that dress. Very original and very happy.
And, I've never seen them reveal too much, too soon, so I've a guess about the 'Olsen' remark: Laura's having twin girls. She's seen crying about how she had hoped for a change in her lifestyle... so, just my guess.

Ok, now I feel guilty -- all these girls digging the yellow holly hobby madras thing. I'm sorry!!
jmflynny, you have to be right about Laura! I didn't even think about twins, then again when would she have had time to go get an ultrasound? But given last season's Nikki Hilton challenge, I didn't think twice about the anorexic twins being the subjects.

She is showing an awful lot for three months, now that you mention it. Twins would make sense.

I hated Jeffrey's Green Acres Plaid... (or is it Hee-Haw?) and the little peek-a-boo game with his model's undies was reminiscent of his crotch adornment in the last challenge... Simply odious. Tits may get hits but the crotch tease wins the challenges.
Uli should have won, and really... was Kayne's really bad?
Looks like the producers are set on keeping Jeffrey... so he, Michael and Laura will be the final three. It will be sad to see Uli and Kayne go before the chinless, despicable Jeffrey, but his evil is so entertaining.

T.O.T., but I propose a "Dear Moxie" column is what the world needs now.
Why?
I just received by mail a subscription offer for the NYT...I live in Florida.
I haven't thrown it away because I can only imagine that there must be something better I can do with it: write something and return it?
So, Dear Moxie, what should I do?

I am so inspired by Laura. I am a stay at home mom who "makes it work" with my husband of 8 years. I just wore a $3 dress that I designed and sewed last night to a charity fundraiser dinner ( no democrats in sight!) and that, my friends, is MOXIE!
