Duncan Hunter

Oh god...

This is the best news I've heard all week.

He is a candidate!

Read his interview with John Hawkins. And then try NOT to send him money. This guy screams Reagan all over the place.

Now, I will be able to sleep tonight. But tomorrow, they better have blog buttons and code available.

UPDATE:
Here is some group right wing thinking, and I have to say I am surprised! Newt???

Not bad...maybe he has a chance.

Draft Fred Thompson!

I'm all for the Newtster :)

I have nothing against Duncan Hunter, but if you miss Reagan, then vote Newt.

If Newt runs, I will probably donate to a campaign for the first time in my life.

Too bad some folks really do not get it about abortion rights.

Sad as it will forever keep some potential good people out of the race. Hunter will be but another one of them.

I find it amusing that moderates and lefties freak out about guns but find it their "right" to kill a child or three.

But I guess it's no different than Condi being the first black woman to be Sec of State was a big yawn, but we're supposed to cheer for Nancy Pelosi's reign of terror.

I'm not laughing at the Fred Thompson suggestion. After all, how often have we heard the phrase 'He acts Presidential"? Apparently, that's good enough for about half the population anyway.

Actually, I saw a town hall type of debate between Fred Thompson and Joe Biden and Joe looked like a little cartoon character; trying to keep up with the bigger, badder dog, and panting all the way.

Thompson made Biden look utterly silly by comparison.

I first met Hunter fifteen years ago, at a tiny diner in a podunk Ohio town, where he had come to help a college pal run for the house. He's a solid citizen, and a great guy, but he lacks personality.

Newt is pasty, bloated, and eagerly waiting until Fall to announce. He'll surge out of the pack of mediocrities with his over-powering intellect. McCain and Gulianni can't pull the base, and there will be pent up demand for a real conservative.

Wow, I didn't know much about him at all but after reading that interview and checking out some other places Hunter doesn't seem like that bad of a choice. He has a few iffy spots but nobody is perfect and I have seen candidates that are much worse.
