you don't have to be right wing to understand terror
My friend Amy Alkon had an interesting exchange -- with a woman who wants to use words and not war to deal with terrorists. You need to read the whole thing.
Here's my favorite part:
"Don't use the word Islamist!"What should I call them, terror-bunnies?
"What do you think of George Bush?" she demanded.
Immaterial! “They blew up the U.S.S. Cole on Clinton's watch! It's not about who's president. THESE PEOPLE WANT US DEAD!”
“And by the way,” I added, “I voted for that scumbag Kerry.”
I think these Topanga housewives are the most dangerous terrorists.

Oh sure, it helps! But I do feel comforted knowing Amy is out there confronting these idiots. We should all be so bold!
I asked a different dear friend today why she is a "moderate" -- which issues, her positions, etc -- she answered all pretty much on the right. I'd guess 99%.
Why are people so afraid to be right? Is Hillary paying to have folks beat up when they refuse to drink the kool aid?

It's simple, Mox. The left has brainwashed public school students into believing and promoting a "non-liberal = evil" catechism. Thus, a rational person who answers no more than few of Prager's "Are You A Liberal?" questions in the affirmative will TILT before questioning that catechism which is considerably less true than the pre-Copernican assertion that the heavens revolve around the earth.
Westerners want to believe that other faiths and cultures are no worse than our own and refuse to advocate their alma maters divest from slavery and female-genital-mutilation-advocating nations. ONLY those in the mirror can be guilty to the libshit mindset.
The puffy affluent Athenians also entertained Hollywood-like ideologies of uber-tolerance and isolationism... right before the barbarians destroyed them.

Miss Alkon, if memory serves, was one of the early adopters of the term "bright" to mean "militant atheist." Not that that undermines the point she makes here, but she does seem to observe a flexible standard when it comes to calling things by their right names.

Good to see others who also know that words need to be backed up. What branch of the service are you in?
