nerdy question

Do any of you know of a site that allows you to bookmark URLs easily and privately, so say -- I am in the studio on their computer and I can just log in remotely, copy the URLs and paste them into chat so you all know what I'm talking about during my show?

Thanks to everyone who listened to the show yesterday. Seems we can all mock the Freegans. The archive version has some major sound issues (the first few minutes), but I don't think that was the case during the live show. Someone would have mentioned that instead of hobbits.

And whoever said in the chat -- that I look pretty in green -- you made me blush. Just for the record.

can't you use something like:
http://del.icio.us/
and just not tell anyone your login?. . . i should point out that i've never actually *used* del.icio.us so i may have it wrong, but i always got the impression that it was for allowing someone to save bookmarks to use on any computer. . .

of course if you click on a link in delicious to go somewhere (as opposed to copying and pasting it into the address bar), the place you go to will probably be able to get to your list (they pop up occasionally in my sitemeter logs). . .

along the lines of the person who said you look pretty in green, i remember when i first started blogging i met up with gnome-girl who mentioned that she'd met you. . . when i started to ask, "so, is moxie actually..."

she cut me off and finished my sentence with, "stunningly gorgeous?. . . yes, the photos you see of her don't do her justice". . . which wasn't what i was about to ask but she went on for a bit talking about how she thought you were totally beautiful. . . i wonder what happened to her, she took a job at technorati and then just kind of disappeared one day. ..

One tool that might help is the Firefox "Send Tab URLs" plugin. It collects the titles and URLs of all the tabs you have open in Firefox and puts them in the body of an e-mail message. You could then e-mail them to yourself, and from there cut and paste as you see fit.

By the way, your TypeKey registration is not working.

Now I want to know what you were really going to ask!!!

Is moxie actually, a fat bald Republican man?
Is moxie actually as obnoxious in person as she is on her blog?

You can't leave us hanging Bloopy.

I did a short review of your show and NowLive here if you are interested.

Dan, thanks so much for hanging out during the show and also for reviewing things.

Now Live is pretty incredible. And yes, we are in a real studio! Kewl, right? You need to call in next week.

For those who are listening to the archive, only the first 3 minutes are borked. After that the sound is better than AM talk radio quality :)

Great, I will try to make time to call in next time. That studio was pretty cool, I have to admit. You are pretty darned big time!

oh, it was nothing big. . . i forget exactly what it was i was going to ask her but it was back in the day when your blog was mainly about crazy parties (the kind with alcohol, not the kind with caucuses) and whatnot. . .

i was essentially wondering if your real-life persona was like your party-girl blog persona 'cuz by that point i'd been doing my own blog long enough to realize that they can be two different things. . .

it's funny 'cuz if gnomegirl had answered the question i was about to ask, i probably would've forgotten her answer like i did with the rest of the conversation we had that day. . . as it stands, however, since she interruped my question with this super-emphatic description of your uber-hottiness, i still remember that portion of the conversation quite clearly - i even can recall she said it as we were pulling out of the bart parking lot during a blazingly hot cloudless summer day. . .

I have a separate work-only login for iGoogle and its tabs work nicely for organizing RSS feeds. There is a bookmarks option on my "main" tab.

You could probably create a moxie-radio account.

I use http://www.artypapers.com/scribble/ that gives you the option to make your bookmarks public or not.

Having seen Moxie live I can confirm she is painfully gorgeous and quite genial in person. She was even gracious enough to let one of her stalkers escort her to her car, though security professionals would rightly advise against such behavior.

"Painfully gorgeous" - nice phrase.

Posted by: Dan from Madison at August 26, 2007 5:08 PM

Thanks so much Paul, for your untrue but kind words! I really needed to hear something nice like that today. The story of Sunday's daily debacle will probably be addressed on Thursday's show.

"del.icio.us" should do it. Also, here's a nifty new one you might try: http://backpackit.com/

(typekey isn't working)

Google Reader. Even works on mobiles. It's great.

Now I have to watch this thing so I can see what painfully gorgeous is (although that could have been referencing Steve [oh the humanity]). heh
